Maggie's Weekend - Friday

Maggie's spending the weekend with us. Yesterday afternoon we walked (at least two-thirds of us did) over to Forest Park
to feed the ducks.

Back home, Maggie discovered that she enjoys picking and, mainly, eating blackberries.

Then she tried getting Mac to play catch with her. He wasn't very cooperative,
but at least he hung around and let her pet him.

And we finished up with a dinner that included corn on the cob.

Another Carillon Concert

Yesterday was the third (of five) weekly carillon concerts at Trinity.

This week the pre-concert concert was singing by two Drama Studio students,

accompanied by Steve Hays on piano. They were fantastic!

The crowd for the concert was the largest anyone remembers seeing.

Sharpe Hill Vineyard

On Sunday John, Bev, CL, and I had dinner Sharpe Hill Vineyard in Pomphret, CT. It's a beautiful place, with good wine and excellent food (and a rotten attitude about the relationship of tasting fees to wine purchases).

Trinity Carillon Concert

Every summer Trinity has a series of carillon concerts, with a separate concert in the sanctuary first and food during the concert. These shots are from last Thursday; there are still three remaining this year.

Forest Park, twice

Last Tuesday morning, CL, Bev, and I went for an early (at least for me) walk in the park.

And in the afternoon CL and I shopped at the Farmers' Market at Forest Park.

Finger Lakes Wineries

We returned home from Pittsburgh last week via the Finger Lakes region of New York, visiting a couple wineries on Monday and another three on Tuesday.

This is Lake Keuka from Bully Hill Vineyards.

And here's Mr. Toad enjoying that view while were were inside tasting.

Clara Lee with the Bully Hill goat.

A couple riesling bottles at Heron Hill Winery.

We had dinner at a small restaurant tucked in between the hills and the lake.

CL next to a some fermentation tanks at Hermann J. Wiemer Wine Co.

One we didn't visit.

Lunch Tuesday was at the Red Newt Bistro. They specialize in local food, and everything was excellent. CL had a flight of local rieslings, and I had a flight of three of Red Newt Cellars red varietals.

At Atwater Estate Vineyards, Mr. Toad found a friend to enjoy the view of Seneca Lake with.

I enjoyed it, too.
