We're in Cambridge this week doing a little babysitting and are amazed at how fast Maggie is developing.

Boar's Head Festival

The 27th annual Boar's Head Festival was held at Trinity UMC last weekend (Jan 8 - 10). It's taken me the past week to go through the 2500 pictures I shot and winnow them down to a few hundred for showing. Very briefly, it's a recreation of a medieval Epiphany celebration.

It includes Monks,

Beefeaters,

Woodsmen,

the Boar's Head itself,

Gargoyles,

the Lord and Lady of the castle,

Bearers of food and animals (here CL is the poultry bearer),

Dancers,

more Monks,

more Woodsmen (bearing the yule log),

Camels (three, one for each Wise Man),

and the Three Wise Men.
