Nous Sommes en Paris

We got to our hotel in Montparnasse neighborhood of Paris around 10:00 (local time) this morning,  or 4:00 Eastern time, after setting out for Bradley field at 8:15 a.m. yesterday.  And, no, MrToad did not come along.  Even though CL wasn't an enthusiastic supporter, we did our best to follow the avoid jet lag by staying up approach.

So we hit a couple sites that J, A, and A probably wouldn't:  Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie.  The day was dark and cloudy, so no exterior shots yet.

The lower level chapel at Sainte-Chapelle,

and a few shots of the taller, upper chapel.

Sainte-Chapelle was built in 1248 by Louis IX.

This is the hall of the gens d'armes in the Conciergerie.  It started as a palace in the 10th century, was a hall for soldiers (men at arms, literally), and housed prisoners during the French Revolution.

Another Walk in the Park

We walked through Forest Park again this morning.  Beautiful day.  Just a couple pictures -- turtles

and a Red-winged Blackbird.

Afternoon Walk

We made our first trip of the season to BerryLine this afternoon.  Maggie enjoyed hers,
but poor Adeline had to just watch.

On the way back, we admired all the spring flowers.

We're in Cambridge again

Here are Maggie and Adeline early this morning.

Then Maggie with her mountain of Legos
 and playing with Adeline.

Later we went for a walk; Adeline was concerned at first, but she relaxed and enjoyed it.

At the playground, Maggie swung, first alone,
 and then with her sister.

And, finally, a couple Cambridge pictures, showing the colors of spring.

Springtime in Cambridge

Last Saturday we visited Jeremy, Amanda, Maggie, and Adeline.

There are crocuses there, too.  And Mr. Toad finally got his picture in the blog

One of the official reasons for the visit was to deliver a couple princess dresses to Maggie for a party she was going to on Sunday.  The plan was for her to pick her favorite.  She liked them both.  So now she has two princess dresses.

Of course, Adeline was there, too.

But she was more interested in her socks than Maggie's dresses.

No trip to Cambridge is complete without a trip to the playground.  I seem to have opted for quantity rather than quality, but I'm sure all true Maggie fans will forgive me.

And then we played with trains before going out for dinner.

The dinner itself was our second official reason for the visit:  Jeremy and CL's birthdays.  No dinner pics, but I did get CL and Jeremy (with a little help) blowing out the candles on their red velvet birthday cupcakes.

Maggie liked the cupcakes,
 but she loved the frosting.
