We're Back
This is Mr.Toad after driving through light lake effect snow from mid-Illinois to western New York. He was a lot more dirty one stop before this, but it was too cold, windy, and snowy to take the time to get a picture.
We drove straight through from Chicago to Springfield (920 miles) in 14 hours (65.7 mph).

Piece Brewery and Pizzeria
They brew their own beer, too. Dysfunctionale ("American-style Pale Ale") on left and Golden Arm ("German-style Kolsch Bier") on right.
Three individual pizzas; clockwise from front left: red pizza with sausage and peppers, white pizza with sausage and spinach, and red pizza with mushrooms and spinach.
A couple buildings near Piece.

Hot Doug's
Hot Doug's is near Jo's apartment, so we dropped by for lunch today.
We had an Elvis (Polish sausage) with sauerkraut, a Chicago Dog with everything (caramelized onions, mustard, tomatoes, relish, pickle), and duck fat french fries.

Cloud Gate and the Art Institute of Chicago
We got on the EL today and went down to the Loop.
First stop was Cloud Gate, this 33 foot high stainless steel sculpture.
And this is just a simple, single reflection.
This sculpture is illuminated internally; the pictures change.
The current special exhibit at the Art Institute is Picasso & Chicago.
We also checked out the Impressionists
and a bit of other stuff.

Field Museum
We visited the Field Museum today, a cold, foggy day.
Sue, the largest intact T-Rex skeleton in existence.
Soldier Field is next to the Field Museum.
