Sunday Morning with Angstrom

We hung around with Jesse, Aurora, and Angstrom for most of Sunday morning before finally loading our beef into Mr. Toad and heading east.  Angstrom's new favorite toys are airplanes, this one a hand-me-down from Aunt Jo.

CL spent most of the winter working on a book for Angstrom.  It's made of fabric, and each page features a different animal and has a different type of fastener for him to practice using.  She'll be posting more pictures of it either here, on Facebook, or both places soon.

Beef Draft Site

The Beef Draft was held in the community room of the Greenfield Presbyterian Church, and while I was waiting for it to start I wandered around and took a few shots of the sanctuary.

Beef Draft 2012

No pictures of Mr. Toad or the trip to get the beef; go to last year's post if you want to see them.

Here are Aurora sorting the beef and Jesse giving pre-draft instructions to the assembled throng, including a representative of the media (WESA, Essential Public Radio of Pittsburgh), and Aurora, again, tracking the selections on her MacBook.

And a couple kids (Angstrom the 2nd one) with their choices.

Angstrom's Day

Play Doh

Jesse and Angstrom played with Play Doh yesterday evening.  The creation below is Jesse's.

Ambidextrous Angstrom

We're in Pittsburgh with Angstrom for a few days.

Early this a.m. he was drawing, and he seems equally comfortable with either hand.

Later we went to The Strip to do a little shopping.  This is a mural next to a parking lot in The Strip (double click on it for more detail),

and these are CL and Angstrom before and after shopping.

Back home he took a few rides on his slide.

More Smiles

from Sweet Adeline.  We saw her briefly when we returned Maggie to Cambridge yesterday evening.

Gooey, chocolaty

That's how Maggie described the brownie batter she and CL were working on yesterday.

Cleaning up

After breakfast this morning, Maggie asked if she could clean up the crumbs with the little vacuum cleaner.

A Documented Day

Unlike yesterday, when I shot a trip to Forest Park using a camera with no memory card, I was careful to capture today's activities.

First, CL and Maggie made scones for breakfast.

 They passed the taste test.

Then we went to the Springfield Museums for a special exhibit on frogs.  Maggie enjoyed them

but also wanted to visit the T Rex again, where she lay in the dinosaur footprint cast and looked up at
the T Rex, who was appropriately dressed for the winter cold.
