100

Sumner Avenue School will be celebrating its 100th anniversary next month.  They asked me to take this picture for them; they'll be using it for publicity.  All 550 students stood in formation on the front lawn last Friday afternoon, and I shot it from a cherry picker on a truck.  It's a panorama of 22 separate images.  The merged files was over 600 megabytes; this is a very low resolution version.

Maggie at Adeline's Party

In contrast to Adeline's approach to cupcakes, grown-up Maggie first carefully licked all the frosting off,  ate the cupcake, and finally cleaned every crumb off the paper.

Maggie and her Dora pumpkin, which she obviously loved.

Happy 1st Birthday, Adeline

The Birthday Girl:

Adeline considered gifts something to be bounced on, rather than opened.

But the gift was unscathed.

When it was time for the cake, it was too windy for the candle to remain lit, so there was no issue as to who would blow it out.

Adeline was very dubious about this cupcake thing,

but she quickly discovered frosting was good,

and then she really got into to cake part (red velvet).

Red and Orange

Maggie and the little red wagon

and next to CL's 2011 Mother's Day rose bush (that's still alive and blooming!).

Forest Park Playground

On Friday morning we visited the playground in the park.  There were no swings, but Maggie liked most of the other equipment.

On the way home we walked through the rose gardens.

I suppose you're all wondering why I've called you here today.

Maggie the Baker

On Friday morning, Maggie (with a little help from CL) made cranberry scones for breakfast.

Later in the day, she made frosting and then spread it on the red velvet cupcakes she and CL baked the day before (sorry, no pictures).  Come back later, and I'll post pictures of her and Adeline eating the cupcakes.

She also made pancakes on Thursday and Saturday mornings, but I didn't get up early enough to take pictures.

Farm Stand and Moolicious

On Thursday we took Maggie with us when we picked up our CSA share.  First stop was Moolicious, the ice cream store across the street from the farm.  Maggie was much more excited by the ice cream and the cows than she was by the vegetables.

Salem and Cambridge

On Tuesday, we went to Salem to visit the Peabody Essex Museum.  On the way I stopped to take a picture of this church, not only the first Congregational Church in Salem, but the first in America.

This is the museum lobby; pictures weren't allowed in the exhibits.  We were there for the Ansel Adams show but also enjoyed the Hats exhibit.

Then we drove down to Cambridge.  Here's Maggie playing memory in her dress up clothes.

And Adeline where she isn't supposed to be.

The two played together for a while,

but then Adeline decided to disassemble the train track

and eat it.

Her current favorite activity is bouncing in Maggie's chair.

But she also likes being read to.
