We got to our hotel in Montparnasse neighborhood of Paris around 10:00 (local time) this morning, or 4:00 Eastern time, after setting out for Bradley field at 8:15 a.m. yesterday. And, no, MrToad did not come along. Even though CL wasn't an enthusiastic supporter, we did our best to follow the avoid jet lag by staying up approach.
So we hit a couple sites that J, A, and A probably wouldn't: Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie. The day was dark and cloudy, so no exterior shots yet.
The lower level chapel at Sainte-Chapelle,
and a few shots of the taller, upper chapel.
Sainte-Chapelle was built in 1248 by Louis IX.
This is the hall of the gens d'armes in the Conciergerie. It started as a palace in the 10th century, was a hall for soldiers (men at arms, literally), and housed prisoners during the French Revolution.
