First Day: Springfield to Pittsburgh

By the way, here's the new plate I referred to back in my first post. I just realized that I hadn't revealed it yet. I think he's happier not being a bumblebee.

We left for Pittsburgh at 4:15 a.m. yesterday and arrived at 12:15 p.m.; it rained most of the way from New York until a couple hours east of Pittsburgh. Entering Connecticut was not a big deal; we'd done it almost every day since Mr. Toad was purchased. It was still dark when we got to New York, so we just kept driving. This was the Toad's first visit to the state of Pennsylvania, so we stopped at the Welcome Center off I84 just over the border to commemorate the event.

We spent the afternoon in Pittsburgh with Jesse and Aurora, trying to keep cool on the hottest day of the year this far. We decided to take in the movie Julie & Julia since we all love to eat and have prepared Julia Child recipes on multiple occasions. It was a most enjoyable afternoon--great movie and many laughs. We thought seriously about going to a French restaurant but instead opted for dinner at a local Thai establishment. Everyone enjoyed the meal and stayed cool for a while longer.
